How long does support take to reply?+
We aim to reply to every email within 24 hours on weekdays (Monday–Friday, IST). Urgent safety reports — harassment, scams, suspected impersonation — are triaged first and usually answered the same day.
I can't log in — OTP isn't arriving. What do I do?+
Check the phone or email you used to sign up (typos are the #1 cause). For SMS, make sure your carrier isn't filtering international codes. If it still doesn't arrive after 5 minutes, retry once, then email support@travelheist.in with the phone/email and we'll send a one-time login link.
How do I report a user or content?+
Open the user profile, trip, room or post in the app, tap the ⋯ menu, and choose Report. Pick a reason (spam, harassment, scam, inappropriate, other) and add context if you can. Our trust & safety team reviews every report. You can also email trust@travelheist.in with screenshots.
How do I delete my account?+
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or visit /delete-account on the web. Deletion is permanent — your trips, rooms, posts, photos, messages and follows are removed, and the email/phone is freed up for a new signup. If you've subscribed, cancel the subscription on the App Store / Play Store first.
I paid for a trip but the host vanished. Can I get a refund?+
Yes — Travel Heist requires hosts to honour confirmed plans. Email support with the trip name, the host's username, what was paid and when, and any screenshots. We'll mediate, and if the host can't be reached or refuses to refund, we'll process it from our end and ban the host.
Can I change my phone number or email after signing up?+
Yes. In the app go to Profile → Settings → Account → Change phone / Change email. You'll verify the new identifier with an OTP. If you've lost access to both, email support with proof of identity (screenshot of an old session, payment receipt, or government ID) and we'll help.
How do I get verified?+
Verification gives your profile a blue tick and unlocks women-only and host-only filters. Open Profile → Get verified, upload a government ID and a quick selfie video. Reviews complete within 48 hours. Documents are deleted after verification per our privacy policy.
Is Travel Heist free?+
Yes — finding travel buddies, joining trips, posting rooms and chatting are all free. We offer optional premium features (boost a trip, advanced filters, priority verification) but every core function is free forever.
I'm a hotel / hostel / tour operator — can I list my business?+
Travel Heist is a community app, not a booking platform. We don't accept commercial listings. But we work with hospitality partners on co-marketing, room blocks for group trips, and creator collaborations — email partnerships@travelheist.in.
How do I unsubscribe from email notifications?+
Profile → Settings → Notifications, or click the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Important account/safety emails (login alerts, payment receipts, ban notices) can't be disabled.
