Travel Heist is built on trust. These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from every traveler on the platform. Following them keeps Travel Heist safe, welcoming and useful for everyone. Break them and you may have content removed and your account suspended or permanently banned.
1. What we expect
- Be real. Use your real name and recent photos. No impersonation, fake profiles, or misrepresenting your age, gender or identity.
- Be respectful. Disagreement is fine. Personal attacks, slurs, harassment and bullying are not.
- Be safe. When meeting someone in person, choose a public place, tell a friend, and trust your instincts.
- Respect privacy.Never share another person’s contact info, address or private messages without permission.
2. What is not allowed
The following content is prohibited everywhere on Travel Heist — posts, trips, rooms, comments, photos, profiles, messages and live sessions. We will remove the content and may permanently ban the accounts responsible.
- Harassment, bullying, threats and intimidation — including dogpiling, hateful comments, stalking and doxxing.
- Hate speech and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual content involving minors in any form. We report these violations to NCMEC and law enforcement.
- Adult / sexually explicit content, nudity, and solicitation. Travel Heist is not a dating-for-sex platform.
- Violence, gore, terrorism, incitement to harm oneself or others, and praise of violent organizations or events.
- Spam, scams and phishing — including pyramid / MLM schemes, crypto pumps, unsolicited promotions, fake reviews and link bait.
- Illegal activity — drug sales, weapons, human trafficking, fraud, or anything that breaks the law in your country or ours.
- Misinformation that could cause real-world harm (medical, election, safety).
- Intellectual-property violations— using someone else’s photos, brand or copyrighted content without permission.
3. Reporting violations
Every post, trip, room, comment and profile has a Report action. Submitting a report:
- Sends the content to our moderation team immediately.
- We review and act on confirmed violations within 24 hours — removing content and, where serious or repeated, ejecting the offending user.
- You can also email support@travelheist.in with the URL or a screenshot if the in-app report flow isn’t available.
4. Blocking
You can block any user from their profile. Blocking takes effect instantly and is bidirectional — the blocked user cannot contact you, appear in your feed, search results or recommendations, and their content is hidden from your view. We are notified each time a block is initiated so we can spot patterns of abuse.
5. Meeting people in real life
Travel Heist connects travelers who often meet in person. Some rules of thumb:
- Meet in a public place for the first time.
- Tell a friend or family member where you’re going.
- Verify identity through a quick video call before meeting.
- Don’t share financial information or send money.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave.
We do not run criminal background checks on users. If something happens offline that involves illegal behaviour, contact local authorities and then support@travelheist.in so we can take action on the account.
6. How we enforce
- Warning — for minor or first-time violations, we may remove the content and warn the user.
- Temporary suspension — for repeat violations or serious single incidents.
- Permanent ban — for severe violations (harassment, hate speech, child safety, fraud) or after multiple warnings.
- Law-enforcement referral — for child safety, credible threats, and other serious illegal activity, we cooperate with law enforcement.
We may take any of these actions without prior notice when delay could put users at risk.
7. Appeals
If you believe your account or content was removed in error, reply to the moderation email you received, or write to support@travelheist.in with the subject “Appeal”. We will respond within 7 days.
8. Changes
We may update these Guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Guidelines.
